What is flexographic printing?

Flexographic printing is often referred to as flexo printing. This printing technique uses a flexible relief plate. It is a modern version of the press that can be used to print on almost any type of substrate, including paper, plastic and cellophane. It is widely used in the printing of large color printing areas.

Various paper bags, such as paper bags with Twist or Flat knobs, are often printed by flexographic printing. Bags with press are used for packaging products or carrying gift boxes.

What are the advantages of flexographic printing?

• Versatility - Flexographic not only has many different substrates, but also allows you to use different types of paint. Depending on the type of substrate used, solvent-based ink, water-based ink or UV ink can be used. Any flexible material can be used, so flexographic printing is very versatile.
• Fast production process - Fleks printing can reach an average print speed of up to 300 meters per minute.
• Automated process - Printing, laminating, cutting all at once. Automated printing speeds up production processes.
• Less maintenance - Flexible printing uses machines and equipment that require very little maintenance. This reduces maintenance costs and makes this printing method a very cost-effective alternative.
• Inexpensive Consumables - The price of consumer goods such as flexographic ink, packaging materials, etc. is relatively low. And while the initial price of the flex board is a bit high, the unit price is constantly low. For this reason, the flexographic printing process is the most cost effective.
• Multicolor Color Palette - Usually four-color (CMYK) colors are used. However, flexographic printing can also have up to 10 colors to create an expanded color product. This makes it easy to print Pantone colors.
• Environmentally friendly - Water-based ink, recycled paint and water-repellent "flexo" panels make flexographic printing a friendly way to nature. The impact on the environment is reduced because fewer toxins and solvents are used in the production process.
